It's time for real leadership

My name is Addul Ali and I am the common-sense Republican candidate for North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District. My life story reflects the grit, struggle, and hope of the communities I seek to serve. My twin brother and I were born to a drug addicted teenage mother, and I grew up in the social services system, shaped by the realities of domestic violence and family substance abuse. Instead of allowing those hardships to define my future, I chose to use them as fuel—through faith, service, and hard work—to build a better life.

Today, I stand as a living example of the American Dream. I am a devoted family man, a proud U.S. Army veteran, and a business owner who understands what it means to create jobs, meet a payroll, and take responsibility. My journey has given me a deep, personal understanding of the challenges facing working families, survivors of violence, and vulnerable children across North Carolina’s 12th District.

I am a proud Republican who has spent years growing our party and expanding its reach. I served as the Operations Director of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of North Carolina, working to advance conservative principles in communities that the GOP has too often ignored. I also had the honor of serving as Chairman of the Cabarrus County GOP and later as Chairman of the 12th District GOP, where I focused on building strong organizations, turning out voters, and proving that Republicans can win by showing up, listening, and leading with conviction.

While too many in Washington have become disconnected from everyday Americans, I believe it’s time for fresh leadership grounded in real-world experience—not career politics. I’m running because I hear every day from residents who feel that longtime elected officials, including Alma Adams, haven’t delivered real results for working families or for those who need protection and opportunity the most.

I’m ready to bring accountability, compassion, and common sense back to Congress—so the people of NC-12 finally have principled, effective leadership that works for them, not the political class.
